At Including Us in Tech, we believe that the power of diversity lies not only in representation but also in the stories, experiences, and insights of those who are paving the way for a more inclusive tech industry. As part of our mission to drive change and foster belonging, we’re thrilled to introduce “21 Questions,” a special feature designed to amplify voices that inspire reflection, spark dialogue, and illuminate pathways toward equity.

 

Carefully curated to inspire reflection and ignite meaningful conversations, these questions span a wide range of topics—from personal journeys and workplace culture to diversity, innovation, and even a touch of fun. Each question is crafted to peel back layers, uncover truths, and celebrate the humanity behind the technology we create.

 

For this project, we invited 21 accomplished tech professionals—each with unique journeys and perspectives—to select questions from a list of 71 thought-provoking prompts. The result is an intimate collection of stories and insights that not only reflect individual growth but also highlight broader themes about what it means to thrive in tech as a person of color.

 

Through “21 Questions,” you’ll hear directly from leaders who are breaking barriers, challenging norms, and redefining what it means to succeed in technology. Their answers reveal lessons learned, challenges overcome, and hopes for the future—a testament to the transformative potential of inclusion when diverse voices are centered.
